Writer's Workshop is a framework for teaching writing. Our school is implementing the Writer's Workshop approach using Lucy Calkin's Units of Study. Join me as I write about our quest to implement the workshop framework. Read about how to get started, our struggles and our triumphs. - I am the Literacy Leader in an elementary school in Westland, MI. I also teach Reading Recovery, an intense reading program that quickly accelerates low achieving first graders in their Reading skills. I have been teaching for over thirty years.
